The Ring should fit snuggly on your finger without risk of falling off, but not too tight, as you don’t want to have any troubles when trying to take it off. It should be able to fit over the largest part of your finger which is often the knuckle. The wider rings (more than 6mm) require the bigger size. If you are choosing wide ring (more than 6mm), usually the suitable size would be HALF SIZE bigger than your normal size. For the best results take the measures in the evening and avoid measuring when it is cold weather.
